Definitions for the most important stablecoin ramp, wallet, payment and AI settlement terms.
Onramp
A service or workflow that converts fiat funding into a supported digital asset and delivers it to a wallet or account.
Offramp
A service or workflow that receives a supported digital asset, converts it and sends fiat to a verified destination.
USDC
A dollar-denominated stablecoin used on multiple blockchain networks. The network must be identified in addition to the ticker.
USDT
A dollar-denominated stablecoin available across multiple networks. Ethereum USDT requires Ethereum-compatible addresses and ETH gas for transfers.
Spread
The difference between a reference market price and the conversion rate offered to the user.
Gas
The network fee required to process a blockchain transaction. Ethereum gas is generally paid in ETH.
Self-custody wallet
A wallet in which the user controls the private keys or recovery phrase and bears responsibility for transaction authorization and recovery.
Payment ramp
An operating workflow connecting collection, stablecoin settlement, treasury, payouts, reconciliation and support.
Financial ramp
The broader architecture that connects payment authorization, identity, liquidity, custody, blockchain settlement and banking outcomes.
Success ramp
A guided user journey that reduces friction from eligibility and verification through final settlement.
AI Ramp
A funding and settlement model that connects fiat or stablecoins with measurable, authorized AI services such as API usage, agents, inference or compute.
